Pride began when we started to self praise and exalt ourselves.
When our heart is full of self praise, pride goes up endlessly, and arrogant words and actions come out unconsciously. As the dawn stars disappear when the morning comes God will lower those who have exalted themselves. If we don’t have anything and we get to pray, if we don’t know anything and we are willing to learn humbly and if we are sick and we rely on God, this in fact is a blessing. Thank you for allowing us to crucify the sinful nature of exalting ourselves and allowing us to bow down before your word.
Passage: Isaiah 14:12-23
How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart,
“I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.[b]
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead,
to the depths of the pit.
1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
