The Three Cord Prayer Meeting returns this year from Monday 7 to Thursday 17 September, Monday to Thursday each week at 7.30PM. Three people become prayer partners: they come to the meeting together, share their prayer requests, and pray for one another. Prayer partners are always of the same sex.
This week I ask our shepherds to pair up the members of their house churches so that everyone can take part, and I ask shepherds and their partners to become the partner of anyone who needs one. Your partner does not have to be from your own house church. Once you are paired, share your requests before the meetings begin, so that in the meeting itself you can give yourself wholly to prayer.
The greatest benefit of praying together is that those who are not yet used to praying learn to pray naturally alongside others. Seats in the main hall are tight, though, and gathering as a group is not always easy. When that happens, share your requests beforehand and pray for one another from where you are sitting.
The book chosen for this prayer meeting is “Victory over the Darkness” by Neil Anderson. Our preachers will draw on it rather than preach its contents directly, but if you read a chapter a day as we go, it will be a great help to your praying.
What we hope for together is what this year’s prayer theme says — “Set them free” — that we would discover who we truly are and be set free from every dark power that binds us, that every house church would be firmly prepared in prayer for the 958th Seminar, and that those in difficulty would meet God here and taste the miracle of their problems resolved.
For those coming straight from work, a simple dinner will be provided at church. I hope many of you will join us.

For the 958th House Church Seminar we have decided to take up to 47 people, including late registrations, so that even one more lay leader from Oceania may come and learn. October’s first week needs every house church’s help — please plan to meet on the Saturday.
