          • A Love Offering for Our Sick Members

We have been praying together for the healing of Shepherd Sung Moon Jung and Sister Rachel Kim, who are both battling cancer.
Shepherd Sung Moon Jung received a bone marrow transplant for blood cancer. His heart stopped afterwards, and he was brought back only after forty minutes of CPR. His breathing was weakened as a result, so he is on a ventilator now, and we are praying that his kidneys would recover. Above all we pray that the transplanted marrow would engraft fully and bring him through to recovery.
Sister Rachel Kim spent the past two weeks in Korea hoping to find a treatment. She has come back without finding one, and will continue her treatment here in Australia. This week she begins another course of intensive radiation therapy, and after a two-week break she will join a new clinical trial — immunotherapy.
Last week one of our members brought a love offering, wanting to give practical help as well as prayer, and suggested that small gifts joined together would be a greater encouragement. Until now we have not taken love offerings for particular individuals — many among us already practise love quietly, and it is hard to do this consistently for every member who is unwell.
This time, believing that this one request is God’s leading, we will receive a love offering for these two. Envelopes will be available at the church. Next Sunday, please write on the envelope the name of the person you wish to send your love to, and everything given will be passed on to the two families exactly as received.
Life is in God’s hands. Please keep praying that He would grant them miraculous healing, and that their families would not grow weary but come through this time in faith. May our prayers and our small gifts become a channel of God’s great grace.

            Word of the week
Registration for the 958th House Church Seminar for Lay Leaders opened last Saturday. The seminar is not a blessing only to those who attend. For us who serve it, and for our house churches, it is a time to reflect again and be given fresh strength.
