          • “Thank You. And I Love You.”

It seems that the words we speak carry far greater power than we realise. In particular, the simple phrases “Thank you” and “I love you” have the ability to heal hearts and restore relationships.
Perhaps because it feels awkward or embarrassing, we often hold back from saying warm words like “Thank you” or “I love you,” even to our close family members and fellow believers with whom we share our faith.
When we hear the words “Thank you,” hardened hearts seem to soften. When we hear the confession “I love you,” weary souls seem to gain strength. For some, a single phrase gives them renewed courage; for others, it brings tears to their eyes.
This is because words have the power to give life. As it is written in Book of Proverbs 16:24, “Kind words are like honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
Jesus also embraced those around Him with words of love. Rather than condemnation, He offered comfort; rather than criticism, He spoke words of restoration. The church, too, should be a place overflowing with words that build one another up. A small expression of gratitude, a warm confession of love, can bring dry and weary hearts back to life.
Today, may you first say these words to the person closest to you:
            “Thank you. I love you.”
Perhaps these simple words may become words of grace that transform someone’s day into a happier and more blessed life.

            Word of the week
Today is Parents’ Sunday. Perhaps you have found it awkward or embarrassing to say it in ordinary times, but today, let us be courageous and confess to our parents: “Thank you for bringing me into this world and raising me. And I love you.” Perhaps these simple words will be the grace that turns someone’s day into a happier life.
