          • Reasons Why People Don’t Encounter God

There are people who, even after attending church for a long time, do not truly encounter God. They participate in worship and serve in ministries, yet they feel that God’s living presence is not real. The reason lies not outside, but within. A lack of joy in the Christian life is also a sign that one has not truly experienced God. So, why do some people fail to meet God?
First, because they have not personally accepted Jesus as their Savior. If you have not personally received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, doing so must be your first step. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Only when you accept Him personally does the door to encounter open.
Second, because they do not “observe” God at work in their surroundings. We often expect only extraordinary visions or miracles and miss God working in the ordinary routines of life. God reveals Himself through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the community. Do not dismiss the events and situations in your life as mere coincidences. When you begin asking, “Why is this happening?”, you will start to recognise God working behind the scenes.
Third, because they try to struggle and solve everything alone. If you remain stuck trying to handle everything by yourself, it becomes difficult to sense God’s presence. God’s will is interpreted and confirmed through the Word and community. He allows us to encounter Him through Scripture and through the words of fellow believers. Don’t stay trapped in your own thoughts; listen to the messages God is speaking to you today and the counsel of trusted people of faith around you.
Fourth, because they cannot let go of their own “methods”. The biggest reason people fail to experience God is that they are confined by their own plans and ideas. There is no room for God to work. Try setting aside your thoughts and stubbornness for a while, pray, and obey. You will surely meet God, who intervenes in your life in ways you could never have imagined.

            Word of the week
The most important aspect of the Christian life is relationships—our relationship with God and our relationship with others. Having strong faith is not shown through positions, knowledge, or deeds. You can understand the state of your faith by observing how you relate to others.
