          • Wednesday Prayer Service Blessing

Last week, before returning to Korea, we met with ShinSung Lee and HyunHee So, a couple who had attended the House Church Seminar hosted by The Church Opening Happiness in Korea. This couple once experienced the joy of faith while attending the House Church Conference for Shepherds at Sydney Crystal Church. After returning to Korea, they met again, got married, and settled into a House Church. They are now faithfully serving as a shepherd and shepherd’s wife, helping to build their church. It was truly moving to see how faith began through Sydney Crystal Church, how their family was established, and how it led to building a church in Korea.
The couple said they were deeply touched during their visit to Sydney Crystal Church after more than ten years. They were especially moved by how generations worship together and how faith is being passed down to the next generation. They shared that seeing all generations worshiping together at ANW services and Wednesday prayer services was something they hadn’t witnessed in Korea. They confessed that they used to wonder, “Does faith inheritance really happen in House Church?”—and that during their visit, they found the answer.
As I listened, I was reminded of the “Olive Blessing” we used to hold during our Sunday Corporate Worship. Although we now hold the Olive Blessing only within each house churches due to various circumstances, I realised that those very children have grown into strong believers, showing that faith is indeed being passed down.
That day, one of the shepherd’s wives who was with us made a suggestion: “Pastor, I think it would be wonderful to have the Olive Blessing during the Wednesday prayer service.”
She also mentioned that some children come to the Wednesday prayer service but are often left unattended in the back. In that moment, I felt convicted that we shouldn’t just leave the children sitting there but rather bless them and train them in faith.
If children can witness their parents praying at the Wednesday prayer service — learning by watching them, praying alongside them, and growing up under their continual blessing — then not only will faith be passed down, but these children will also become mighty warriors of prayer.
The future of the church depends on the inheritance of faith. Let us continue to bless our children in our house churches and in our church gatherings, so that the next generation may grow up in the gospel, experience intergenerational unity, and see faith beautifully passed on.

            Word of the week
We plan to have a time of Olive Blessing for the children during the Wednesday prayer service. The Olive Blessing will take place after the praise time and before the sermon begins.
