          • When a VIP visits the house church
A house church is a spiritual family. In the house church, life is born (salvation of souls), nurtured, and matures into discipleship in Christ. That’s why having a VIP (a person invited by God) visit the house church is one of the most joyful occasions. However, if the house church, as a whole, is not prepared, this precious visit may end simply as a one-time event, which is a missed opportunity.
So, what should we do when a VIP visits the house church?
First, during house church meetings, always prepare an empty seat and pray for a VIP. The reason we prepare a seat and pray is because the salvation of souls is ultimately God’s work, beyond our own service. As we pray over that empty seat, God will give us a heart for the VIP, and at the right time, He will send them to the house church. This practice also helps all house church members prepare their hearts to serve well when a VIP does come. (One church in Korea reported that over 70% of VIPs who settled in the house church did so after consistent prayer like this.)
Second, when a VIP visits, the order of the house church meeting may need to be adjusted slightly. The first gathering should be mindful of the VIP’s experience. This doesn’t mean we should completely change the structure of the meeting, as that may affect future gatherings. Keep the essential elements, but adjust them to be welcoming and understandable for the VIP. For example, the person in charge of praise can prepare a song like “You Were Born to Be Loved”, which is easy to sing together. The message summary and prayer can also be shared with the VIP in mind, in a way that’s easier to grasp.
Third, during the sharing time, the house church members can take turns giving short testimonies focused on how they came to know Christ, how their lives changed, and how they received salvation. This can help the VIP become more interested and open to the house church. One important note: be careful not to let one person speak for too long. At the end of the sharing, give the VIP an opportunity to talk about their own life if they feel comfortable, so they can also participate and feel included.
By preparing in this way, the house church can become a welcoming, Spirit-led environment where VIPs are embraced and gently drawn into the journey of faith.

            Word of the week
Construction of a prefabricated building is underway to address the church’s lack of education space and meeting areas.
Please pray that the necessary funds for ongoing construction and facilities will be provided, and consider participating in the building offering.
