The path that goes past the limits

In life and ministry, there are often times when we face limitations. In the face of such limitations, we become discouraged and frustrated. However, it also becomes an opportunity to look at yourself in front of the limitations. You realise how fragile you are in front of them. And then, you will seek God. So, feeling the effects of limitations can, in a sense, be a good thing.
Confessions of people who have experienced frustration, despair and sorrow are recorded in the Book of Psalms. As the authors experienced these emotions, they came before God and sought Him. If you meditate on Psalms, there are confessions that are repeated over and over again, and one of them is “God’s unchanging love”. The Psalmists, who were discouraged and frustrated in the face of their limitations, grabbed a hold of God’s unchanging love and was able to stand up again.
There have been times during my ministry when I have run into limitations. In many cases, it was due to my own incompetence and weaknesses. Sometimes, it was due to the environment and people. People didn’t like my incompetence, weakness, mistakes and failures. However, when I was struggling with my incompetence and weakness, and as I went through those difficult times due to my mistakes and failures, God was always with me with unwavering love.
In fact, human limitations are a way to experience God’s love and grace. When you feel your limits, it is important not to be swayed by your emotions, but to stay firm in the presence of God who surrounds you with unchanging love. It is during this time that we will experience God helping us to rise above our limits and overcome them. This is a valuable experience I have learned while living and working in the presence of God.
My limitations are not the end. My incompetence is not a reason to despair. My limits are, on the contrary, the way to enjoy God’s love and grace. It is a great blessing to know how to rise beyond our limits within the presence of God. Whenever I am faced with limitations due to my incompetence and weakness during the ministry, God keeps me from succumbing to my limits and allows me to overcome them. It is the one-sided grace of God, who never left me, and supported me with unwavering love.
