Schedule for the Retirement of Elder Lee and Voting of Leadership Roles
Although the plan for the election of people to leadership roles was delayed this year, due to the lockdown situation, we are proceeding with the plan. Also this year, Elder Ho-Hyun Lee will retire from serving as an elder. Over the years, Elder Lee has greatly helped in establishing our church to grow in a healthy way. Particularly during times in the ministry where there were difficulties and crises, he was a strong supporter and exercised faith and wisdom. Although it was very regrettable to hear that he would be retiring, he said he was only giving up this role but will continue to devote himself to serving his house church and elderly members, so I accepted this.
It is necessary for the church to select and establish people to leadership roles, however it must be handled with care because it could cause conflict or personal disappointment. Please remember that appointing people to leadership roles is not about a popularity vote and it is not a title of honour. Being able to raise people to leadership roles well will help make the church more healthy and more beautiful. However, we also know that no one is perfect. The Lord, who is the owner of the church, chooses and manages the work and we raise people who can pray and devote their time to the church.
