Commit to the Lord (New year's eve service sermon)
A new year, 2020, has begun. At the new year's eve service, I preached a sermon titled "Commit to the Lord", as a word of blessings for the new year. Trusting the Lord is only possible when we commit our lives to him. Those who trust are able to commit, but if you don't trust, you can't.
There are five things we should commit to the Lord.
1. Commit your way to the Lord.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this. (Psalm 37:5)
2. Cast your cares on the Lord.
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. (Psalm 55:22)
3. Commit to the Lord whatever you do.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16:3)
4. Commit to God’s wrath.
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. (Romans 12:19)
5. Cast all your anxiety on him.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
When we don't cast our anxiety on him, our pain won't leave us. We lose sleep, and become ill. Not only this but “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. (Luke 21:34)
When we commit to the Lord, it means we commit everything, not only what we can or only half. When we cast our cares on him, God will give us peace.

A new year 2020 has begun. I pray that as you make new resolutions of your faith, the grace and blessings of God will overflow in your lives and your families'.
