The calling of the church is to pass on the gospel to our children, and also evangelise unbelievers, save their souls and make them disciples. This week, as I was praying for our children, the next generation, various thoughts crossed my mind.
Does our church have a passion for the calling to fill our children's hearts that are like a blank canvas, with the gospel? I see and hear about churches in both Australia and Korea losing children and only the older members remaining. It is an opportunity and a blessing for our church to have so many young children and it is our calling to educate them. If we fail to teach them, we too will become a church with only older generations.
I don’t want our church to have only certain people dedicating themselves to children's education and to bear this burden. I would like everyone involved, and I would like everyone who has children to participate somehow in Sunday School. It may not be every week but we will come up with a way to involve everyone, and not only for those with faith but those without to also participate.
Secondly, in order for this to happen, new members with children must agree to be involved in children’s education.
Thirdly, we will prepare, with prayer, education facilities and expansion of the church building for the safety of our children. (We laid out artificial grass in the front of the building in children's area this week.)
I look forward to everyone’s participation in making the church a great place for educating the gospel to the next generation.
