          • After the 2nd Oceania Singles Joint Camp

The 2nd Singles Joint Camp held last week was a time of challenge and grace.I'd like to share with you what I felt and learned through this time.First, 120 people came from 11 different churches from English and Korean backgrounds. It is a good idea for the singles of house churches in Oceania to unite as one to help one another because when the youths come together, they are able to create synergy. There are Christian camps in Australia that focus on the individual’s faith but once the camp is finished, rather than building up the church, it creates confusion to the church, but the House church camp builds relationships between churches and within mokjangs.
Secondly, I realised through the camp how important it was to belong to a community in which we can laugh and cry together when it’s so hard to keep our faith on our own as Christians. It is a great joy to be able to share our lives despite the hardships we encounter. The mokjas of small churches were greatly comforted through the camp and it was beautiful to see mokjang members who made commitments to work together with their leaders in their ministry.

          • Thirdly, Satan will do whatever he can to attack the community, bring trouble to relationships, and bring us down. In every mokjang there are people who are difficult to get along with, who lack experience in relationships with others, and who need extra care and attention. And the camp made me think where else besides a mokjang would people accept and transform these people. If we were to have time to listen to people’s life stories in a mokjang, we would be able to better understand those we couldn’t before.
Fourthly, mokjangs must strive to become one body and one family. When we focus too hard on soul salvation we can easily forget this but without the mokjang becoming one body, soul salvation will not happen and when a mokjang is multiplied without having experienced this oneness, the mokja of the new mokjang experiences more trial and errors than necessary. It's essential all mokjang members participate in a house church seminar and learn to become one, before multiplying.
