There are many factors that allow the House Church to settle and for the church members to be actively involved in their mokjangs. One of the factors is the role of existing members. Existing members refers to those who have been attending church for a while, are sure of their salvation, and have formed a community of faith with other believers.
Mokjang leaders are definitely more motivated when they have fellow mokjang members rather than only having VIPs in their mokjang, but when their mokjang members are not cooperative or supportive, they can become discouraged. For example, they may criticize their mokjang leaders or not show any interest in their own mokjang and not attend meetings. When VIPs see this, they will do the same; those with weaker faith tend to follow what seems easier for them which can often be wrong, rather than what is right, or beneficial. When this happens, mokjang leaders become discouraged, the mokjang loses its life and soul salvation obviously won’t take place.
On the other hand, mokjangs that enjoy being together and say that they are happy with their fellow members have existing members whose roles stand out. They are stepping stones for their leaders, they cover mistakes and flaws of their leaders, set good examples for other mokjang members, and tactfully fill the needs of their leaders. Such mokjangs are always filled with joy, people are touched, challenged, and they develop, and moreover they have a holy impulse to want to bring other souls to their mokjangs.
Ultimately, mokjangs are not only run by the dedication of the leaders but are built through the fellowship of existing members. Even if circumstances don’t allow them to participate as often, when they try their best to support and help their leaders, their mokjangs will become more motivated.
I would like to ask those who are currently not participating in their mokjangs to please participate. You are our fellow believers who are helping to build the church and mokjangs. Please support your leaders with all your heart and help to build your mokjang.
