Results of survey on Children's Blessing Time (Sunday 1st Service)
We have had children's blessing time every service and we still do during the 2nd service and the English service. However, it's been difficult to continue carry this out during the 1st service due to lack of room and larger number of children attending (70 children attending 1st service). With a number of issues arising, we had stopped temporarily and decided to assess in three months time.
As a result, we have had more children coming to 2nd service's children's blessings. We have started this in our Wednesday's prayer service. Sunday school have said children are much more in order, and with teachers looking after kindy for longer, we have started constructing children's play area in front of the church building to overcome this difficulty.
We had a small number of people, 16, participate in our survey on children's blessing time. For the first question "What did you think of the atmosphere of the service when we had children's blessings?", 15 answered "Good." When asked about the current atmosphere without the blessings, most answered "average", and "not sure". When asked "Considering we have 70 children attending 1st service, is it possible to have children's blessings?", 8 replied yes and 8 replied no. To the question "Would you like the children's blessings to return to 1st service?", 11 said yes and 4 said no. We also received the following comments, "When I first came to church I really liked children's blessing time", "Sunday school and kindy can alternate every week", "Children can wait at the back and leave after blessing time".
Conclusively, it's unfortunate we weren't able to gather accurate data due to lack of participants for the survey but we have decided to bring back the blessing time and reassess. We will only have kindy children in blessing time and this will start from next week, 14th July.
This week's message
We have people who arrive early parking inside or in nearby streets, making it hard for those who need the spots, to park. Please park further away and leave the spots free for vehicles that need to park inside for ministries, for newcomers, families with children and those with disabilities or for seniors.
