          • The dispersion of the house church in mission fields

The 83rd House Church Conference for Ministers concluded last week by the grace of God. After the conference, Pastor Lee Sangrae (Miracle Land Baptist Church, Missionary of House church in East Africa) came to our church as a guest speaker and spoke about “Africa and the house church”. I was greatly challenged by his talk as well as the conversations we had.
I learned how effectively the house church system worked in Africa and how house church mokjangs were expanding. In African countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, Congo, Rwanda and many others, there have been many requests by bishops (African churches use the term ‘bishop’) for house church seminars and conferences, leading to an increase in the number of house churches being built, and many more requests are being made in African countries house churches have not yet been introduced to. I was touched by stories of animal hunters who became mokjang leaders and are serving in mokjangs in order to save souls.
A bishop representing a particular denomination confessed, “missionary work in Africa has a long history. Missionaries has built churches, supplied food and other goods, and taught us about the Bible, but house churches have reformed the church so that lay people could do ministries.”
This made me want to see for myself this place of joy that causes your hearts and body to dance at the idea of saving souls. House churches name their mokjangs after a mission field , prays for the missionary that is there and has first-hand experience visiting them in the country they are in. It’s natural for our desire for soul salvation centered around our mokjang to extend to global mission fields.
I pray this conference serves as an opportunity for mokjangs of Sydney Crystal Church to take more interest in missionary work and become leaders of global missions.

            This week’s message
Others are able to see how good our faith is by how warm we are. In order to be a warm person, we must practice living a life in which we ourselves have died on the cross and our lives are led by Jesus, just as the flowers of pride must fall in order to bear fruits of character.
