Every church ministry is important, but there is a priority within the ministries. The priorities are set based on how closely related the ministry is to saving lost souls. This is because the church exists to evangelize. This principle becomes clearer when you think of the soldiers at war. In order to win the battle, the unit that is directly related to fighting in the war is the most important. From the rifle regiment, the artillery unit, the supply unit and the driving department to admin unit, every unit of the army is important. And they all exist to help the soldiers fighting at the forefront win.
The same goes for the church. The evangelizing ministry is the most important and other ministries play supporting roles. For example, mokjang ministry is at the forefront, fighting for soul salvation and other ministry departments support this ministry. The church operations team and other ministries help to strengthen our mokjang ministry and if this was to change, it would become very difficult to carry out our mokjang ministry.
Educating the next generation is also directly related to saving lost souls. I hope that there is more dedication and support for our next generation ministry this year. This does not mean that other ministries do not matter; they are all necessary in supporting the main ministries and without them, everyone will suffer. This Sunday, I look forward to everyone joining in on building a church for the Lord’s needs as well as for the church community’s.
