          • What to wear to the Sunday service…

Even the most well-groomed person will misbehave once they are in an army uniform. This is how powerful our clothing can be. When you are appropriately dressed, it makes you stand out and it boosts your level of confidence. Clothes that are appropriate for going to a concert aren’t going to be appropriate for going for a walk. No one would wear a t-shirt to a job interview just because they believe they should show who they really are. Yes, God looks at our hearts, but there is appropriate attire for going to church- neat and tidy attire. It does not have to be fancy or expensive, but something smart and neat that shows your anticipation for meeting God. We have newcomers at our church and the first impression of the church in their eyes is important. This is why I ask all mokjang leaders to dress neatly for the church. When we distinguish ourselves from our daily lives, we are able to deliver a distinguished message. There are certain clothing I would like us to avoid wearing to church, such as tracksuits and slippers. For our sisters, please avoid anything too revealing, as tight, revealing clothing can become a hindrance to our service. It can cause distraction for yourselves as well as make others uncomfortable.
Prayer leaders, testimony givers, and communion and offering members should take extra care in what they wear to church, and a semi-formal attire is recommended. If you are unable to, a collared shirt rather than a t-shirt would be ideal. The house church system is one in which people learn from observation, and it is our duty to show our VIPs how we must dress to church in order to show respect to God. Please regard it as showing respect to God and also being considerate of others, and follow our dress code rule.

            This week’s message
“The most important thing in our lives as Christians is relationships. The state of our faith can be determined by our relationships with God and our neighbors.”
