In the lead up to the 522nd seminar for lay people
This week, we are hosting the 522nd house church seminar for lay people. There are 33 people attending from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, New Zealand, and Sydney. The seminar is for churches that have decided to switch, or have already switched to a house church. The purpose of the seminar is for the participants to learn about the biblical foundation of a house church and learn practical ministerial tips. They will also be challenged through testimonies of mokjang leaders and participate in mokjang moims to gain first-hand experience of what a house church is like. They will stay at a mokjang leader’s home and spend time with them to learn and see what it’s like to be a leader as a lay person.
The preparation that went into hosting the seminar in decorating the church and homes for our guests was like a composite art with church ministries integrated into one. Holding a seminar takes up a lot of time and money but at the end of the day we are left extremely grateful to have hosted the event. This is because the problems and difficulties we face in preparing for and hosting our guests, God’s grace he pours on us is much greater. ‘To give is a greater blessing than to receive’ is the true word of God. God rewards those who serve him and you will reap what you sow. Our service to God will be rewarded at least 30 times what we have sown. When Abraham served the angels, God not only gave him Isaac, he became father of all nations. The seminar participants are also like the angels who will deliver God’s blessings to our church, and we should serve them with joy, as if we were serving angels.
One of the lasting memories for seminar participants will be the energy they see at the church. A special energy that house churches have Is warmth and friendliness, yet passion for saving souls. And this type of energy can only be created through long hours of intercessory prayer for the seminar. I would like to request those who aren’t able to participate in the seminar to still pray for the event.
This week’s message
Our morning service during the seminar week will celebrate a hug ceremony and a baptism ceremony. During the afternoon service we will have a baptism ceremony and a mokjang division. Please prepare a flower or gift for those involved to celebrate the events.
