An essential part of mokjang leaders’ ministry is to ‘hold their mokjang members up in grace’ and to pray with them when they are faced with a problem. Mokjang leaders are discouraged when their mokjang families don’t experience change and growth as they had hoped. This disappointment can lead to frustration, despair and even make them want to give up. A mokjang leader’s role isn’t to change a person. Only God can do this. Their ministry is to pray and to help them hold on in grace. Their job is to keep them from leaving God’s grace and God will do the rest.
Help them participate in Accepting Jesus meetings and to take Living Life, take classes with them, help them participate in seminars and conferences and encourage them to be involved in ministries and volunteer work and eventually you will see them transforming.
‘Holding on in grace’ the way to growth for your mokjang members. Faith grows within a community so in order to grow, you must hold on to your church and your mokjang. Jesus said, “I am the grapevine and you are the branches, you cannot do anything without me.” There is not much we can do as branches but as long as we hold on, we will grow and bear fruit.
If your mokjang leader suggests going to an Accepting Jesus meeting, give it a go; if they suggest studying Living Life together, doing volunteer work, try it out, if you listen to them and take on their suggestions, you will find your faith growing before you know it.
