          • We must live the gospel

In the Book of Proverbs, Agur prays,“Two things I ask of you, LORD; do not refuse me before I die:8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (Proverbs 30:7-9)
This is an essential prayer for us as believers, as we strive to live for God’s glory.
If you are living for the Word of God but are unable to escape from poverty and distress, people in the world will not want to believe in God. If you are involved in God’s ministry and you are praying yet aren't experiencing God’s blessings, please review the following three things:
First is whether there is unresolved sin or selfish desire that is blocking God’s blessings. Second is whether God may have a special purpose for your distress. And if neither is true, reevaluate your life to see if you are living a life worth of the gospel.
The world cannot see God, and it wants to see Him through us. The world could be your non-believing family, your workplace, or your friends. They see God through what we eat or drink. (1 Cor 10:31)
God looks at how grateful we are and how we are living for His glory. People want to see us living with God. Working honestly and sincerely, sacrificing ourselves yet blessed and happy… they want to see a life that is different.
A faithful life will bless our children’s generation as well, as their lives are shaped by what they see and learn from us. Rather than leaving our children financial legacy, let’s show them what a blessed life is. Let us be resolute in living a faithful life and stay strong.
