Our rally last week concluded with abundant grace, and our guest speaker, pastor Shim Young Choon’s unpolished look and his inaccurate pronunciation disarmed our hardened hearts and captured us with his sermons. It was an experience hard to put into words.
Throughout the rally, he captured everyone’s hearts with his words filled with the house church spirit and everyone had joy and happiness written all over their faces as they went home at the end of the night.
During the mokja moknyo seminar/meeting, he shared with us his ‘mokjang techniques’ he had created as a manual after years of experience, and added that he was sharing it exclusively with us.
To describe the rally in one sentence, it ‘planted a sense of assurance and joy of the house church in our hearts’.
And another would be ‘consolation for mokjas and moknyos of Crystal Church’.
I started a house church at my home 16 years ago after reading pastor Choi Youngki’s book, when the term house church was unknown in Sydney. At the end of the rally, pastor Shim expressed his surprise that there was such a church in Sydney and added that he saw hope in us.
I am so proud and appreciative of the mokjas and moknyos of Crystal Church. However, I failed to offer enough confidence and comfort to all our mokjas and moknyos who devoted themselves to Jesus’ desire and calling, despite their own hardships as immigrants.
I have no doubt God will use Crystal Church in great ways. I will do my best in my ministry for Sydney Crystal Church to go from a good church to a great one, and for everyone in it to have a successful life worthy of God’s praise.
