The English Congregation Service (SCC English Service) is starting this Sunday at 1.30pm in the new training hall at Granville. The reason we call it an English Congregation Service is because it is a part of the Sydney Crystal Church with the same vision and mindset, and the only difference is the language used. We have summarized the church’s vision in the English service program as below:
‘Sydney Crystal Church (SCC English Service) is a church which ‘saves souls and makes disciples of them’ (Matthew 28: 19-20) as commanded by Jesus. There are three axes and four pillars in the house church which are required to obey Jesus’ command. The three axes are the hardware of the church which are the Sunday service, mokjang meetings and the Life bible study, and the four pillars- the software- are the purpose of the church (Matthew 28: 19-20), training disciples (Mark 3:14-15), division of ministries (Ephesians 4:11-12), and servant leadership (Mark 10:45)’.
We have a lot to improve upon being in the early stages of setting up the service, and there is a lot to do. When we look in to the future, there is no doubt we will grow and develop. I ask everyone to pray for and encourage our brothers and sisters who are working hard to set a strong foundation.
I will be in charge of the English Congregation Service but since my English is not fluent enough to preach, I will be preaching once a month with the help of a consecutive translator. On the other days, the English Service leader, Yang Yoontaek and others will be sharing their testimonies. I am going to be preparing and training the speakers on giving testimonial sermons based on the manuscripts from my sermons.
The praise and worship team will be alternating leading the service and role delegations have been set in place. We are planting yet another tree for our future. I request everyone’s prayer for the English Congregation Service (SCC English Service) to reach out to multiracial souls and make them disciples of Jesus.
