Satan rules the dark side of the world and we must continue to confront him until he is defeated. However, despite being aware of Satan’s schemes, many Christians are helplessly beaten.
If coming to service has become a mere formality, if you don’t feel like praying, if you find it difficult to forgive and let go of bitter feelings, and if you’re letting your flesh overtake your life, it’s a sure sign you have fallen into Satan’s trap. We must continue to fight until we can triumph over Satan, but if you think that some day things will naturally improve, you will be defeated.
After many years of ministry, I can somewhat distinguish those with genuine faith. A person of faith continues their spiritual battle in order to stay strong and not stumble and fall. They do not give into temptations, but prevail.
When we are faced with trials, and we let go of our spiritual rope and withdraw, we will fall into Satan’s trap, hence the reason we must stay strong in difficulties.
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (1 Timothy 4:1).” The scripture says that the demon does not give up trying to pull you away from faith, and those who once had strong faith eventually abandoned it and followed Satan. So when you feel Satan’s trap luring upon you, you must defeat it in the name of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and by God’s words and prayer. Faith is a spiritual life we must conquer in.
