We recently bought a Honda Odyssey, an eight-seater van for the church. We’d been talking about purchasing a new van for the last two years but since we had a 12-seater, we kept putting it off till recently we decided to buy one. We have yet to decide what to do with the current 12-seater. It’s a manual, hence has not been utilized as much as it could have been. The reason we had bought a manual was because we had a lot of problems with our previous eight-seater Tarago which was an automatic. It was convenient for everyone to drive which meant we had a lot of accidents, fines, engine problems, etc. so in order to reduce costs and to restrict drivers, we had bought a manual, but it also came with a problem; it wasn’t utilized as much.
The new eight-seater will be used to transport ministers and guests for mokjangs and other ministries. Please refer to the operation policies provided by the administration team which you will find on our website and the bulletin board.
Many of you will probably expect a pickup service on Sundays with the new bus and this will only be possible when there are volunteers willing and able to dedicate themselves. We have provided pickup services in the past at Parramatta station, for Sunday school students, and for those going from morning to afternoon service. The problem with this was not only was it hard to find volunteer drivers every Sunday, it was impossible to accommodate everyone’s needs. Everyone required different times and locations. Ultimately, the most effective way to help them out is through their mokjangs. If you require a transport service to and from church, your sincere gratitude towards the help you receive will encourage volunteers to serve with a willing heart.
