          • Making our mokjang meetings enjoyable (2)

In order for mokjang meetings to be enjoyable, the act of saving lost souls must take place. And for this to happen there must be a list of VIPs whom everyone in the mokjang can serve and pray for. I think 5 is a suitable number, and rather than each individual having a separate VIP, mokjangs must treat them as ‘our’ VIPs. If mokjas and mokyeos don’t share their prayers about their VIPs with other mokwons, when the VIPs finally come to a mokjang meeting, the others can feel neglected. When creating a VIP list, two things need to be considered: who needs Jesus the most and who needs a sense of belonging- a mokjang- the most. It’s wrong to serve a VIP that the mokjang needs, but we must consider whether this VIP needs the mokjang’s help or support in any way.
Everyone in the mokjang should be praying for their VIPs at least once a day. Rather than abstract, ambiguous prayers, our prayers must be specific and appropriate: “Let us have lunch or dinner together”, “Let them come to our meeting”, Let them come to church”, “Let them sign up for Living Life”, “Let them accept Jesus”.
At the end of every mokjang meeting when you share news about your missionaries, you should also update each other on your VIPs, and if nothing has changed you can simply say “there has been no change”. I pray that everyone at Sydney Crystal Church is fully equipped for Jesus to assign us with the mission of saving lost souls.
