With God’s meticulous love and interest in mind He tells us what a mother who has given birth to a child must keep. Likewise, when God gives the law to His people it is not to oppress us but is out of love, to let us know what we must do one by one. Therefore, when we read the Word of God we should not feel pressured or feel like it is oppressing us but rather accept the Word with a joyful heart knowing that it is given to us for our benefit and strive living out the Word of God in our lives.
Passage to read: Leviticus 12:1-8
2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period.
3 On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised.
4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over
