The Pharisees accused Jesus’ disciples of doing what was forbidden on the Sabbath which was to pick the heads of the grain on the Sabbath. Jesus refers to their ancestor David, who ate the consecrated bread that only the priests could eat, and Jesus himself tells them He is the Lord of the Sabbath.
Who is the Lord of the Sabbath?
Why does the Bible say, ‘set apart the Sabbath day, holy!’
The Sabbath is definitely not the rest I have set for myself.
This is the rest, the Lord has ordained for me.
He has allowed me to restore my spiritual life and enjoy the peace and rest of being with the Lord.
Please remember that the Sabbath in the Lord is the true form of rest.

3 Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”
5 Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
