          • God's Word that was evident in History

Luke seems to have wanted to say that the Bible is true. John the Baptist's words of repentance that informed people to receive forgiveness of their sins in the wilderness were true and his words of preparing the way for Jesus to come to save us were also true.

The Word is the faithful Word of God that does not contain a single error. But do we live with a heart that believes, trusts, longs for, and expects this kind of Word?
Let's meditate deeply on why Luke wanted to make known to us the names of the emperor and the kings and high priests who ruled over the region in today's passage.

            Passage to read: Luke 3:1-6
1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene—
2 during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.
3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins
