Israel continuously sinned against God. They were warned by numerous prophets and by people of God but they failed to turn back. As a result, various disasters and judgements came upon them and it was as though their lives had come to and end.
However, God’s true will for them was not destruction. His will was for them to repent and return to God and to live as God’s people, and to be loved by Him.
When numerous afflictions and pain cause us to fall, we must remember God’s true will. When we remember His love and faithfulness, we will experience His amazing restoration.
Passage: Jeremiah 46:13-28
27 “Do not be afraid, Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed, Israel. I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid.
28 Do not be afraid, Jacob my servant, for I am with you,” declares the Lord. “Though I completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only in due measure; l will not let you go entirely unpunished.”
