Paul desperately wanted his people to receive salvation even if it meant being cursed and cut off from Christ. This was similar to Moses's confession towards the sinning Israelites who made idols and worshipped them as he was receiving God's law on Mount Sinai. Moses said " Please forgive these people, even if you must erase my name from the book of life.
Paul's prayer was not for one's own satisfaction, but truly showed his love for other souls.
I hope that our lives today will be like this intercessory prayer.
I hope today will be a day of prayer for those in Korea, Australia and around the world who are struggling with the coronavirus, rain damage and other difficulties in life.
Reading: Romans 9:1-13
3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race
,4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.
5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all,forever praised! Amen.
