          • A heifer that has never worn a yoke

When there was an unknown murder, a heifer that had never worn a yoke was picked and taken to a valley that had not been plowed or planted and where there was a flowing stream. There they broke the heifer's neck and killed it instead of the murderer. A flawless heifer had to die on behalf of the murderer.

In this ordinance, the murderer symbolises us while the heifer that died represents Jesus who was blameless and sinless.

I hope that we will live today thanking Jesus who became a sacrifice instead of our sins.

            Deuteronomy 21: 1-14
1 If someone is found slain, lying in a field in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who the killer was,
2 your elders and judges shall go out and measure the distance from the body to the neighboring towns.
3 Then the elders of the town nearest the body shall take a heifer that has never been worked and has never worn a yoke
4and lead it down to a valley that has not been plowed or planted and where there is a flowing stream. There in the valley they are to break the heifer’s neck.

            1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God telling me?
            3. What do I need to obey?
            4. What are your thankful for?
