          • A house of prayer for all nations

At the time, the temple was separated into an indoor court and outdoor court. The indoor was only open to the Jews, and only the outdoor court was open to the Gentiles as well.
The chief priest at the time, Caiaphas, made this outside court into a market selling goods necessary for offerings and Jesus was furious at the sight of this.

God’s temple was to be a house of prayer for ‘all nations’ but they had made it into a ‘means’ of making profit.
The church needs to be a path for all to meet God, without any discrimination.
If something that has lost this purpose enters the church, we must beware of it.

            Passage: Mark 11:15-25
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves,
16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.
17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

            1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God’s message to you?
            3. What do you need to obey?
            4. What are you grateful for today?
