Pastor Ordination Ceremony for Pastor Yoon Taek Yang
Pastor Yoon Taek Yang served as a pastor at Sydney Crystal Church before enrolling in seminary. Around the time when the COVID-19 pandemic began, he founded Joyful Church. Orange, the area he serves, is an inland region nearly four hours from Sydney. It is estimated to have around 100 Korean residents, yet there is no Korean church. The decision to undergo pastoral ordination arose from the need to restart the church as he moved to Orange. While it could be seen as a mission field, the pastoral ordination was deemed necessary for effective ministry. The decision was made after undergoing pastoral ordination deliberations within the denomination, which were approved on January 26, 2023.
To receive pastoral ordination, recommendations and assistance from their original churches are needed. Pastor Yang received continuous mentoring from me and participated in a house church pastor fellowship for several years to receive ongoing training.
The pastoral ordination ceremony, organized by the Korean Pastors' Association within the Churches of Christ denomination, will take place on February 25th at 5 p.m. Pastor Yang, who previously served as a shepherd at Sydney Crystal Church in Sydney, is now being ordained as a pastor, and I am delighted to collaborate and congratulate him on this occasion.
Pastor Yoon Taek Yang, through what he learned during his pastoral years, has aspirations to save souls in Orange. While establishing a church in Sydney can be challenging due to the abundance of existing churches, there is interest in establishing a church in Orange where none currently exists.
The church will initially collaborate with an Australian-led church within the same Churches of Christ denomination, and separately, there will be worship services and house church meetings specifically for Koreans.
I would like to express my gratitude to the members of ANW Church, the villages, house church members, and many believers who served and dedicated themselves until Pastor Yoon Taek Yang's ordination. I also appreciate the prayers and support from shepherd Min Goo Hwang's house church with its mission field in Orange. Now, as we embark on establishing Joyful Church in Orange, I ask for your prayers and support to ensure its strong foundation and healthy growth.

It has been decided to hold the re-appointment and appointment of Deputy Deacons next week. Those who wish to be appointed as deputy deacons and are over 27 years old and married, please sign the Deputy Deacon Commitment form and place it in the Commitment box next to the bulletin pigeon holes in the hallway.
