          • A New Change
As I said last week during the first and second service, from next week, the current Korean congregation at Telopea will start attending Korean services at Granville. Some of you may be wondering why the Telopea congregation is moving to the first and second services at Granville. This was a decision made by the church administrative committee based on numerous meetings, surveys and opinions. There may be some people from the third service at Telopea who will experience difficulty as the Korean service times at Granville do not match their preferred service time. In this instance, please consider attending the ANW (All Nations Worship) service. You will be able to experience the growth of ANW. Currently, the service times at Granville are 9.30am for the first Korean service, 11.30am for the second Korean service, and 2pm for the ANW service.
Those coming from the Telopea Korean service can choose the worship service time suitable to their needs. However, in order for the ministries, that shepherds will be part of, to operate efficiently, it is necessary for house churches to inform the church regarding which service they will attend.
You may be wondering about whether you have to attend the worship service time that the house church has selected. When COVID first occurred, the worship service was separated and house churches attended the same worship service time that the house church was allocated to. There were many benefits from operating this way, so I think it would be good for house churches to continue attending together at the same service. However, an issue with this is that since Sunday corporate worship is centred around house churches, the bigger picture for the church’s united ministry has weakened, and members only meet within their own house churches and do not have the ability to interact with other house churches. The concept of a united Sunday worship does not mean that each house church attends worship by themselves. It means all the congregation unite in Sunday corporate worship. It is the Sunday unity of fellowship with other house churches, participate in ministries according to each ministry department, and participate by serving as Sunday School teachers. In this respect, I think that worship service times may vary for members in order to participate in the church’s united ministry, rather than randomly attending different worship service times due to an individual’s preference.
In order for the union to take place actively, house church meetings that are held on Sundays due to COVID need to move to weekdays. For shepherds, guiding house church members to serve in the church’s united ministry in various ministries will help house church members to have a happy life of faith, and the church will also become happy through the abundance of ministries.
