          • Transformation begins from small devotions. (1) Pastor Lee Sukwan

The beauty of Christianity is without a doubt, transforming people. Seeing people who once lived for their own desires and only for themselves transform after believing in Jesus is not only a joy to see but a thrill. However, transformation doesn’t take place overnight when one suddenly gives up their life by grace, or completely changes the way one has lived. Of course, when God’s grace is at work, it may be possible. Instead, what transforms us are the small decisions we make. For example, one may have just thought about attending Wednesday prayer service but realized they had their tennis game on Wednesday evening that they love to go to and can’t replace it with another day. When they give up their tennis game, this small decision is the beginning of their transformation. This small resolution allows us to experience the joy of giving up something small but valuable, for God, and it also leads us to give up something greater. This not only applies to devotions but also repentance. Of course, Saint Augustine’s revolutionary repentance is not entirely impossible, but repentance usually occurs when we acknowledge the Spirit’s touch to look back at our sins and take action. When I first went to church and met Jesus, the Spirit always pointed out my small sins. And my faith grew rapidly through acknowledging and taking action on it.On the other hand, the senior demon in CS Lewis’ ‘The Screwtape letters’ tells the junior demon, ‘as long as repentance does not lead to action, we demons don’t have much to worry about.’ And he also says, ‘but when a believer realizes and repents a sin, stop them from taking action by making them do something else. Ultimately, this means that a small action is better than a great acknowledgement.-This was written by Pastor Lee Sukwan, director of International House Church Ministry-

            This week’s message
Satan is always setting traps for us to fall. Let us pray that we won’t fall for him. When we pray, God works. When wepray together, we will see history being made.
