          • Changes to the church since COVID-19 1

There is good news that the number of confirmed cases have decreased in Australia. However, it will still be some time till we can go back to normal. And even when we do, the world will never be the same.
The biggest change since COVID-19 is ‘relationships’. Before, we enjoyed meeting one another, but now doing so puts us in great danger of catching the virus and we have to be more cautious than ever.
This kind of change has also affected the ministerial environment and traditional churches that were ministry oriented and worship oriented are going through tougher times. And this isn’t all. Churches that were ritual oriented and had no fellowship on Sundays will face a crisis in the future. Those who have been going to church solely for worship without having had fellowship with others will think ‘why should I go to church when I can give online worship at home?’ and this convenience they seek will eventually become a grave for their faith.
All churches are going through the same hardship but churches that are relationship focused and having fellowship through mokjangs are showing that they are overcoming the difficulty. Just as churches in the New Testament age that were scattered due to persecution became stronger through the house church that is lay people oriented, churches that are centered around fellowship will take this opportunity as a chance to grow and mature.
The world is becoming a harder place to keep our faith. In this current circumstances, rather than passively waiting and thinking “we will go back to church for service one day..” we need to focus on our mokjangs and experience a breakthrough in our faith. We must actively participate in our mokjang meetings during the week and continue to communicate with one another. After the Sunday online service, try sharing photos of yourselves giving worship, and look after your VIPs together. The church will continue to improve upon the online service, open up more Life Classes, and run Receiving Jesus meetings every week upon request.
When we overcome the difficulties through focusing on our mokjangs and fellowship, this will become a chance for us to grow and mature.

            This week’s message
Please participate more actively in your online mokjang meetings during the week and follow the program as we do in our offline gatherings.
