Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing
When you do righteous things, do not try to be seen by others but do it in secret. This means don’t let the left hand know what the right hand is doing.
But how many people do you think there is, who do not want to receive a reward from the person who they helped?
And how many of us do good things and don't want to boast about them?
But in this case, there will be no reward from God.
In other words, when we give silently, serve diligently and love others, God remembers all of this and looks for an opportunity to reward us.
So when we do righteous things, let’s put our hope in God who will reward us and live this life with joy knowing this truth.
Passage to read: Matthew 6:1-18
1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
