  A shield is a tool that effectively blocks the enemy’s attack. It protects us from suddenly flying arrows and striking swords. It saves people from danger.
  
  God is a shield for those with clean hearts and the honest. He protects us from Satan’s attack and holds us so we do not fall. God is a righteous God who protects those with pure faith.

  9 Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure—you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts.
