In the sanctuary of the tabernacle, He commands that the lamp of the lampstand to keep burning. The lamp of the lampstand signifies the presence of God, in other words God being with him.
In order for our hearts to become a sanctuary where God dwells, the fire of prayer must keep burning. This is because when the fire of prayer is extinguished, we cannot feel God's presence in the darkness.
Passage to read: Exodus 27:1-21
20 Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning.
21 In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
