The Early Church faced problems because of the false doctrine taught by false teachers. Unlike the apostles who taught God’s Truth through the Spirit’s guidance, they distorted the Truth with their own ideas and beliefs and this drove many people away from Jesus.
The false teachers who took advantage of the sheep rather than leading them the right way received judgement. God sternly says that not only will He not forgive them, He will destroy them.
As we live in an era where Jesus’ gospel is being distorted by heresies and false beliefs, I hope that we can restore the Truth through the Spirit’s guidance. The gospel displayed in our lives is the true gospel that will lead many to the Truth.
Passage: 2 Peter 2:1-11
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them-bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
