Those who do not know God have hopes in the world. They seek joy and happiness in their life because their current life and circumstances are all they have.
But for us believers of God, the happiness in our life now is not as important because all our hopes and dreams are in heaven. The hopes we have in the everlasting world will protect us from the temptations and afflictions of this world that is only temporary.
I pray that as we dream of heaven, we will triumph in the midst of adversities we face today.
Passage: 1 John 2:28-3:10
1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
