Every time we pray, we end with ‘I pray in Jesus’ name’. It is a habitual phrase, but it actually has a very significant role in prayer. This is because it leads us to pray thinking about God’s will like Jesus did.
Today’s passage tells us that prayers that seek in accordance to God’s will are those which get answered. If we pray for God’s kingdom and righteousness above our own needs, He will fill us with everything we need with abundant grace.
Passage: 1 John 5:13-21
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
