God chose Babylon as his tool of punishment for Israel’s sin. They became stronger because of God’s temporary goal. Not knowing this, Babylon showed off their power and ultimately collapsed through God’s judgement.
God sometimes uses worldly people to turn His people back from sin. We may suffer momentarily but we mustn’t fear. Their power is only temporary.
If you are being tested by God, focus more on Him. When we humbly focus on our test, we can discover God’s will to renew us.
Passage: Jeremiah 51:25-40
36 Therefore this is what the Lord says: “See, I will defend your cause and avenge you; I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.
37 Babylon will be a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals, an object of horror and scorn, a place where no one lives.
