There are two main types of affliction mentioned in the Bible. One is for God’s glory and one is caused by our greed. Both are equally hard but the results are completely different. One is followed by blessings and the other by destruction.
If we are experiencing affliction in our lives, we need to examine whether it is affliction of blessings, for God’s glory, or whether it is a cursed affliction, caused by my own greed. If it is the latter, we must quickly turn from it and avoid God’s wrath.
Passage: Deuteronomy 28:58-68
66 You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.
67 In the morning you will say, “If only it were evening!” and in the evening, “If only it were morning!”—because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes will see.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
