When referring to God's love and kindness in the Old Testament, the term “Hessed” is often used. The term is more than just emotional love, or costly love. It is an unconditional, unshakable word for eternal love.
Israel and David, retrieving the Ark of the Covenant and worshiping with joy in the temple, remember and sing this “Hessed” love.
We praise and sing the love of the eternal God, not like the love of man.
Even when they were in sin, even when they left God, God did not give them up.
Eternal love has come to us through Jesus. Through Jesus, who gave generously even his life, he showed love for us.
When we believe and sing that eternal love, the joy that David and Israel felt will come to us.
