          • Encouragement

When the Israelites returned from captivity, there were Samaritans living in Jerusalem, and they did not know God. They also didn’t know the importance of the temple. The Israelites attempted to rebuild God’s temple after they returned to Jerusalem, but it remained collapsed for 16 years because the Samaritans opposed the temple being rebuilt. Prophet Haggai heard the word of the Lord and came to the Israelites and encouraged them by saying, “Be strong. Be strong, all you people of the land.”

Today’s passage is like a message to churches (Christians) who currently aren’t able to hold worship services.
Our church also isn’t able to gather together for service from this week. But please do not be too discouraged, because soon enough, God will fill our temple with treasures and He has promised a much more radiant temple than what we have.
We now hold on to the Word of Promise God has given us and I want to say to those around us, “Be strong.” “Be strong.” “God will be with you.”

            Passage: Haggai 2:1~9

4 But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.
5 ‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’
9 ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

            1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God’s message to you?
            3. What do you need to obey?
            4. What are you grateful for today?
