The two large pillars in front of the temple were named ‘Jakin’ and ‘Boaz’.
‘Jakin’ means ‘He will establish’ and ‘Boaz’ means ‘strength is within him’. So to those entering the temple, the two pillars mean that ‘God will establish us with His strength’.
What are the pillars that are supporting our lives and what do the pillars mean to us? The worldly people consider their careers and skills as their pillars but we as believers must trust God’s strength like the two pillars ‘Jakin’ and ‘Boaz’ and trust that He will establish us in His time.
Passage: 2Chronicles 3:1-17
15 For the front of the temple he made two pillars, which together were thirty-five cubits long, each with a capital five cubits high. 16 He made interwoven chains and put them on top of the pillars. He also made a hundred pomegranates and attached them to the chains. 17 He erected the pillars in the front of the temple, one to the south and one to the north. The one to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.
