Melchizedek, king of righteousness and peace, whole also is a priest. Without genealogy, without days or end of life, he is a priest resembling the Son of God. Melchzedek received a tithe from the patriarch Abraham and he blessed Abraham, which implies his superiority to Abraham. Melchizdek reminds us of Jesus. Jesus came as king of righteousness and died on the cross for us who were condemned to die because of our sin. He is the high priest, he made us righteous in sin and led us to God and his peace.
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Jesus is not a mockery and persecutions of the world, but a man worthy of all the praise and glory. I hope it will be a day today, where we meet Jesus, glorify and worship him wherever we are.
Passage: Hebrews 7:1-10
1 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,
2 and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
