Anything we love more than God can become our idols. Not only physical images but anything that draws us away from God can be an idol. We try to find rest and peace in them but we can’t.
What can be our idols?
(Wealth, abundance, high status, our children, a big house, a stable job, people we like, etc.)
We are not to give our hearts and thoughts to these things.
In order to guard our hearts, we need to love God’s Words, revere the Lord, and worship Him.
And when we do, we will experience ‘God’s unexplainable grace’.
Our loving God will feed us, clothe us, and protect us from numerous enemies.
Let us keep away from our idols today and find joy in only God.
Passage: Leviticus 26:1-13
1 “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.
2 “‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
