God ordered Israelites to work for 6 days but take a day of Sabbath rest on the seventh day, the day they should not do any work. God distinguished and blessed the Sabbath so that we can rest within him, as well as to enjoy and appreciate everything he’s provided for us.
We shouldn’t just simply take a day off from work and rest on Sunday, but rather confess that we are living our daily lives by God’s grace. I hope we enjoy the Sabbath within God by worshipping him with thanks.
Leviticus 23:1-8
3 There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
